If you know the members, you can see the ‘real’ Blackpink

Girl group Blackpink is sweeping the domestic music charts with their new song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’. Blackpink, now in their third year since debut, has emerged as an unrivaled music powerhouse in name and reality, with every song they release being a hit. Even during the one-year long hiatus, fans waited for Blackpink’s music.

Blackpink’s music has a strange musicality that captivates the public’s ears. Good music is a factor in their success, but more than anything, the fatal charm of the four members is capturing the hearts of fans. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa present their unique powerful vocals and choreography on stage.

We analyzed each Blackpink member’s appearance that excites fans. It was a place of charm that could not be escaped.

■ Meeting of Seoul and Auckland vocals (Jisoo and Rosé)

Jisoo, the eldest member of the team, is the lead vocalist. Blackpink does not have a separate leader. However, Jisoo’s leadership can often be seen in official appearances or on stage. Jisoo tries to maintain the stability of the team by solving the members’ mistakes and difficulties rather than herself. In fact, at the recent press conference for the release of the new album, Jisoo struggled to answer most of the questions.

Jisoo began her trainee life in July 2011. Before his debut in August 2016, he showed off his unique visuals by filming a student uniform advertisement with fellow agency group iKON. Jisoo has a pretty face, but her voice also has a husky charm. In particular, Jisoo boasts such outstanding beauty that she received a casting offer from SM Entertainment during her trainee days.

If it’s a song, it’s a song, if it’s a visual, it’s a visual. It’s like Blackpink’s indispensable mascot. In addition, Jisoo’s four-dimensional eccentricity makes fans love him even more.

It is no exaggeration to say that this is the most attractive voice among the Blackpink members. Rosé, who is the team’s main vocalist, is Blackpink’s signature vocalist. He lets you know that it’s a Blackpink song just by hearing his voice.

Rosé was born in New Zealand and lived in Australia before debuting through an audition at YG Entertainment. At the time of the audition, Rosé sang pop singer Jason Mraz’s ‘I won’t give up’ and became a YG trainee in first place, overcoming a huge competition rate of 700 to 1. That’s how Rosé boasts high-quality and stable vocals.

Rosé is not only a vocalist, but also the lead dancer in the team. Rosé, who shows off her amazing dancing skills with her cool 168cm body, also had cheerleading experience during her school days. Because of this, she perfectly pulls off her sexy group dance while maintaining restraint.

Rosé’s real name is Park Chae-young, and she holds dual citizenship in New Zealand as well as Korea. Rosé is growing into a global member who is proficient in not only Korean, but also English and Japanese.

■ Meeting between Seoul and Thai rappers (Jenny and Lisa)

Jennie can be considered the hottest member of Blackpink. Jennie’s lovely appearance and perfect body, seen through her SNS, excite the hearts of not only her male fans but also her female fans.

Jenny received attention for her various hairstyles and fashions through her singing career. In particular, Jenny is said to wear all of her outfits in a classy and attractive way, so she is also nicknamed ‘Human Chanel’.

The name ‘Jenny’ may seem like an English stage name, but it is actually a Korean real name written in Korean. Because of my name, many people mistake me for a foreigner or second-generation Korean. Of course, Jenny’s exotic appearance also plays a role. However, Jenny’s parents are also Korean and were born in Korea. Jennie, like Rosé, is also a prepared idol member who can speak Korean, English, and Japanese.

Jenny studied abroad in New Zealand for 5 years starting when she was 10 years old. There, Jenny became interested in music, and when he returned to Korea, he became a trainee at YG. Afterwards, he developed his artist capabilities by featuring in the albums of his senior singers Lee Hi, Seungri, G-Dragon, etc.

Jenny is the main rapper and sub-vocalist in the team. He once again thrilled fans by showing off his powerful rapper skills in the title song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ from his recently released first mini-album ‘SQUARE UP’. Full-feeling vocals are another of Jennie’s unique weapons.

Lisa, the only foreign member of the team, is from Thailand. Boasting the best proportions in Blackpink, he makes Blackpink’s stage even better with his refreshing dance moves. Lisa, who is loved by many for her Barbie doll-like visuals, is called a free spirit among her fans. He is also close with member Jisoo, feeling like they are sisters in real life, and the two of them are often seen bickering and playing together.

Lisa is the only talented person to pass the YG audition held in Thailand in 2010. Afterwards, Lisa began her trainee life at the age of 14 and developed her dream of becoming a singer.

Through a long period of hard practice, Lisa has dancing skills that are comparable to those of other idols. She is the main dancer in the team, and although she is boyish, she plays the role of lead rapper with her distinctive low-pitched voice.

Blackpink, comprised of four members: Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa, debuted in August 2016. Blackpink’s fandom name is ‘BLINK’, and it is known that there is good chemistry between the members and fans.

BLACKPINK heralded a sensation in the music industry by ranking first with their debut song ‘With a Whistle’ just 13 days after their debut. Afterwards, each song they released became a hit, including ‘Boombayah’, ‘Playing with Fire’, ‘As If It’s Your Last’, and ‘STAY’, quickly establishing themselves as a top-class girl group.

In particular, Blackpink is showing perfect synergy through working on each album with YG’s main producer Teddy. This is why Blackpink’s music is even more anticipated.
