In recent years, the Barbados-born singer has focused on her fashion and beauty companies under the Fenty brand. In early July, Rihanna posted images on Instagram, showing her setting a record on Spotify. The music streaming platform later confirmed the news.
10 songs in Rihanna’s collection that reached 1 billion streams on Spotify include Diamonds, We Found Love, Love On The Brain, Stay, This Is What You Came For, Needed Me, Four Five Seconds, Work, Umbrella and Love The Way You Lie.
The latest music that the Grammy Award-winning singer released is the single “Lift Me Up” on the soundtrack album “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in October 2022. Last week, Rihanna announced her departure as CEO of fashion company Savage X Fenty. The singer will be Executive Chairman of the lingerie brand she founded in 2018, and Hillary Super will replace her as CEO.
Last month, Rihanna made Forbes magazine’s “Richest Self-Made Women” list along with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Barbra Streisand.
Despite not releasing a new album since 2016, Rihanna continues to be a popular artist in the entertainment industry through her fashion and beauty companies. Rihanna’s new record on Spotify also shows the important growth of streaming platforms like Spotify in the music industry. This has changed the way music is consumed and distributed, and has become an important source of revenue for artists.
Rihanna has made a strong mark in the entertainment industry for more than a decade with many hits and many awards. However, fans are still looking forward to Rihanna’s new album coming out in the near future.
