As expected, Taylor Swift will hold her next concert on September 5 in Paris, France. Met Gala 2024 takes place just 3 days before her European leg. In interviews about The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift once said that she follows an extremely harsh regime to ensure the highest quality shows. She says no to alcohol and parties, limits talking to protect her voice, and exercises continuously. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand that a big party like the Met Gala will greatly affect Taylor Swift’s preparation process.

Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, a member of the American football team Kansas City Chiefs, is said to have also received an invitation to the 2024 Met Gala. However, he was spotted hanging out at the Formula 1 race in Miami instead accepted the heron in New York. It’s unclear why he missed the opportunity to attend the Met Gala for the first time, but perhaps he was taking a break before accompanying Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour in Europe.

“She will perform all over Europe. There will definitely not be a bad show, I promise. And I definitely have to go to support her,” Travis Kelce shared with Entertainment Tonight reporter.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky

The female singer has a history of often being late, even being the last person present at the event, so fans keep looking forward to her presence. However, even though she planned to attend the 2024 Met Gala, Rihanna had to cancel her schedule because she had the flu.

Before the 2024 Met Gala, Rihanna teased the outfit she would wear. “I will wear very simple clothes, compared to what I have worn before,” she shared. “Why is it simple? Because I am a mother. Very busy!”.

It’s unclear whether Rihanna passed the flu virus to her partner A$AP Rocky.

Billy Porter

Billy Porter shocked the 2019 Met Gala with an outfit inspired by pharaohs. However, this year, the man who often wears dresses on the red carpet said he will be absent from the event because he cannot get over the news of his mother’s death in February 2024. “I just lost my mother,” Billy told E! News at the TIME 100 Gala. “I have to take care of myself. And that means not going to parties every once in a while.”

Jared Leto

After causing a stir at the 2023 Met Gala with an outfit imitating Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette, Jared Leto is expected to have a grand return at this year’s event. However, the artist skipped the party because his band, 30 Seconds to Mars, was on their way to Europe for their  Seasons World Tour. “I will be at the [Met Gala] in my mind and wish everyone a beautiful evening!”, he shared with E!.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Blake Lively once co-chaired the 2022 Met Gala. However, this year she was absent. Her famous husband Ryan Reynolds was also absent, as he is currently preparing for his blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine  .

Katy Perry

Absent at the 2024 Met Gala, Katy Perry said the reason was because she was busy recording music. It’s been a long time since the Roar  singer released a new album due to spending time being a mother and taking care of her small family.

Adele

Met Gala brings together A+ list celebrities from around the world. But there are also many people who have never attended, and among them is Adele.
