BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has been selected as the newest ambassador for the contemporary fashion brand Self-Portrait, a London-based brand created by Malaysian-born designer Han Chong.
On March 6, Self-Portrait unveiled its latest collaboration with Jisoo through an exciting campaign. Captured by Yoon JiYong in Seoul, South Korea, the campaign showcases Jisoo donning select pieces from Self-Portrait’s spring-summer 2024 collection.In the latest campaign, Jisoo dazzles in a shimmering pink halter dress adorned with black accents and a delicate floral embellishment. Her makeup, featuring subtle eyeshadow and a glossy lip, harmonizes flawlessly with the vibrant pink ensemble.
Jisoo is also an ambassador for Dior and Alo. This is her first brand model deal since founding her own agency, Blissoo.
Moreover, Jisoo makes history as the first musician to be the face of Self-portrait. Traditionally, the brand has worked predominantly with supermodels like Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk, and Bella Hadid.
Han Chong, the creative force behind self-portrait, expressed his excitement about the collaboration and shared with TeenVogue, “Music has always played an important part in my life; it has been a universal language which has been a companion to me since I was very young, bonding me to communities from all around the world. Musicians quickly became a great source of inspiration for me as a designer — through their costumes, their chameleonic evolutions, and their mesmerizing performances. I’ve therefore always wanted to work with an artist who could transmit the values we hold at self-portrait and who represents the women we connect with globally.”
This latest collaboration between Self-portrait and Jisoo is a special one as Jisoo was already familiar with the brand. She was seen wearing the brand’s designs a number of times, both on and off the stage. Designer Han Chong explained, “Jisoo has been a wonderful part of the self-portrait family for many years — wearing our collections on stage and in her personal wardrobe, so we see this first campaign as a natural and official next step to our relationship together. She’s such an inspiring role model to so many and a great source of inspiration to me as a designer — this is just the beginning, watch this space!“
