Usually, celebrities have some of the coolest car collections in the world, and Tom Cruise is no exception. Tom’s collection might not be as extravagant as let’s say Jay Leno’s, but it’s impressive nonetheless. On the big screen, many fans know him for his work done in the recently released Top Gun film, but in other films, like the Mission Impossible franchise, he’s seen pulling some of the most daring stunts in cars, almost as if he’s preparing for a Fast & Furious movie.

It is also worth noting that Tom Cruise isn’t just an auto enthusiast, but he loves his fair share of motorcycles, and well, anything with an engine in it. Regardless, these are his most prized possessions parked in his garage.

8 2005 Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron is arguably one of the, if not the most iconic car of all time. Whether you’re a die-hard petrolhead or simply a normal individual, chances are you know about the Veyron. The Veyron made its debut back in 2005, and it shocked the world with its top speed and over-engineered engine.

This Bugatti has a mid-mounted 8.0-liter W16 with four turbochargers attached to it allowing it to produce 987 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque. And despite its near-4,200 lb curb weight, the Veyron can still reach 60 mph from a standstill in just 2.4 seconds and run up to a top speed of 253 mph. Tom’s specific Veyron would have set him back around $1.24 million back in 2005, and we can’t help but love the dark colors his is finished in.

7 2010 Ford Mustang Saleen S281

Many people know the Saleen name due to their supercar, the S7, but what many tend to forget is that they sometimes dabble in the art of heating up Ford Mustangs. Mr. Cruise’s specific Saleen Mustang is called the S281, it’s painted in a flamboyant orange, and powered by a 4.6-liter supercharged V8 that puts out 485 hp 460 lb-ft of torque.

All of this power is sent to the rear wheels, and could only be controlled via a 5-speed manual gearbox, well, at least it had a limited-slip differential to aid it from spinning out.

6 1949 Buick Roadmaster

So, let’s tone things down a bit and move away from overpowered monsters to classy, elegant cruisers (pun intended). In the 1988 film Rain Man, Tom Cruise is seen driving a beige 1949 Buick Roadmaster.

This specific Buick wasn’t just driven by Tom, but it was owned by Dustin Hoffman as well, however, it was auctioned off for $335,000 earlier this year on Bonhams. Underneath its hood was a 5.2-liter straight-eight engine that put out just 150 hp at 3,600 rpm, but its appearance and reputation alone made it desirable.

5 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

The Chevy Chevelle SS was one of the most revolutionary cars ever produced, and one of the most beloved muscle cars in particular too. Cruise fell in love with the Chevelle while shooting his action film, Jack Reacher, and who can blame him.

Powering the ’70 Chevy is a 455 cubic-inch V8 engine that’s good for up to 450 hp – but do keep in mind, that this car was released at the same time as other muscle car icons like the Dodge Challenger R/T, but even that only produced 425 hp in its peak form.

4 1958 Chevrolet Corvette C1

When you hear a celebrity owns a classic Corvette, you immediately imagine a red and white two-tone convertible, but Cruise’s taste is a bit different from your average Joe; his is finished in light blue with white compliments.

The ’58 model Corvette was part of the C1 generation and it inhabits a 4.6-liter American-bred V8 engine that produces between 230 hp and 290 hp. Although the C1 Corvette isn’t the most loved ‘Vette ever created, it’s definitely a beautiful car, and we wouldn’t mind waking up to it every morning.

3 1996 Porsche 911 (993)

There have been countless different iterations of the Porsche 911 over the years, and many consider the 993-generation to be the greatest of them all because it was the last analog 911 to be built by Porsche.

Just as there are an infinite number of 911 generations, there are also an unlimited number of trim levels ranging from all-wheel-drive to rear-wheel-drive, to naturally-aspirated engines, to turbocharged ones. We have however concluded that Tom’s 993 was just a base-spec 911 Carrera.

2 1976 Dodge Colt (first car in high school)

Tom didn’t have it easy growing up. His family wasn’t wealthy, and he didn’t have the best role model as a father since he would beat him, as well as his three sisters back in the day, but this didn’t lead to Cruise throwing in the towel. He wanted to make a name for himself, and become a famous Hollywood star.

So, at 18 years old Tom got his first car, a ’76 Dodge Colt (which was actually just a Mitsubishi underneath) with a pitiful 1.6-liter engine. From there on out, he set out to follow his dreams, and become one of the most well-known actors ever.

1 1988 Nissan 300ZX SCCA Race Car

We’re going to end off this list with something unexpected, not only is it not legal to drive on public roads, but Cruise drove it himself in different Sports Car Club of America races. Underneath its red, white, and blue livery, this race car was a Nissan 300ZX, and Tom drove it as hard as humanly possible.

See, on the one hand, he won a few races, but because he adopted a very aggressive, competitive driving style, when he didn’t place first, he usually didn’t finish the race at all, and pushed his SCCA race car a tad too hard and ended up in a barrier.
