When I was a kid, I had a favorite teacher, as we all do. I was a nerd and I was super needy, so having the attention and affection of my teachers meant the World to me. Sad, I know. Turns out, that teacher had made a name for herself for being tough, so before her classes, I’d have emotional breakdowns often. Looking back now as an adult, of course, she was more aware of my emotional struggles than my parents, because she was always the kindest to me and she always showered me with attention.
